About the role
 
Bell Gully is looking for an intermediate and a senior lawyer to join our Auckland commercial/technology practice.  You will be supported by Laura Littlewood in a team which advises on corporate transactions in the technology and consumer sectors as well as commercial contracts and specialist advice in privacy and data, technology, FinTech, cyber security, consumer law and e-commerce. 
 
Some recent highlights for the team include advising clients on market-leading technology, data and e-commerce projects and loyalty programmes, as well as major technology projects for government clients.
 
As a growing practice, we are looking to expand the team with an intermediate lawyer with two to five years’ experience, and a senior lawyer with six of more years’ experience.  Private practice experience in privacy, technology and commercial agreements is required.  Experience in intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, or financial services regulatory advice would be an advantage. The role would also suit experienced inhouse counsel seeking a return to private practice.
 
Skills and experience
  • 4 or more years of quality experience, including in private practice in New Zealand.
  • Strong technical knowledge and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent leadership and staff management skills and business development capabilities.
  • Right to work in New Zealand
