Everyday Independence is growing to meet the needs of people of all ages who live with a disability in the Geelong region.  

As our new Team Leader, you will bring a supportive and coaching leadership style, whereby you will guide with your passion and commitment to the role and dedication in shaping the career path of your team. 

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor Qualification in either Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech Pathology and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent with Speech Pathology Australia. 


Employment type: Full Time and Ongoing

Location: Newtown - Geelong
Salary: $80,000 - $119,000  
 
We work with children and families and adults and have a variety of caseloads available for your discipline depending on your area of interest and career pathway.  You will need to have a degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or Physiotherapy and experience working in the NDIS is an advantage.  We use a person centered approach to recruitment and we would love to speak with you to understand how an organisation like ours can support you to enjoy your everyday work and to reach your full potential.  This role is a mix of clinical work and people leadership.

Our Approach
  • We work with people and their families where they live, work, learn and play. Including their homes, work places, schools and out in the broader community
  • Support people and families living with disability to achieve high impact and positive outcomes that will give their life meaning and purpose
  • Work in an interdisciplinary team of other therapists where the person is at the center of everything we do
  • Lead, coach and mentor early career therapists
  • Use a strength-based and capacity building approach, embed therapy into routines and deliver a service that demonstrates inclusive participatory practice. Work with children, adults or both depending on your experience and/or preference 
Key responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will need exceptional people management and leadership skills
  • You will support your team members to work productively, effectively and to deliver strong outcomes to people with a disability
  • Facilitate your teams sense of community and continue to champion our positive culture throughout our organisation
  • Support referral and intake teams to allocate referrals to the right therapists at the right time to ensure people with a disability can maximise their therapy funding and outcomes
  • Identify gaps in service and build the capacity of your team either through recruitment and/or training to ensure your team can deliver a first class service to people with a disability
  • Support therapists to work within and develop their scope of practice
  • Support therapists to achieve their learning goals and career aspirations
  • Build relationships with our customers and stakeholders and identify what is working well and to create change in areas that can be improved
  • Active member of the Everyday Independence leadership impact team
  • To have a vision for your team and how we can support people with a disability to reach their full potential
  • You will be supported by referral and intake teams to allocate referrals to the right therapists at the right time to ensure people with a disability can maximise their therapy funding and outcomes
