About the Role 
Your role as NSW Manager of the Contaminated Land team will be to effectively manage, direct and lead your people, whilst ensuring operational effectiveness and mitigating business risks. Take your team to the next level through empowering innovative and entrepreneurial thinking. Responsibilities of this role include, not limited to:
  • Take this team forward through your ability to manage and direct the team whilst providing strong leadership and technical expertise.
  • Providing technical direction across the Contaminated Land team and giving on the job training, leading by example to achieve sector goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused and entrepreneurial culture
  • Managing all aspects of resources across a large portfolio of contaminated land projects in a proactive manner by overseeing project delivery timelines, resource allocation, quality assurance, forecasting/budget targets, and client feedback
  • With a client-centric approach champion client briefings, feedback and troubleshooting. Effectively strengthening client relationships and the team’s growth.
  • Working closely with the technical consultants and Project managers on technical reviewing of projects and technical reports
  • Communicating with team members such that they understand and become engaged with the sector and discipline business plans
  • Succession plans, performance management, and team motivation
  • Work collaboratively with bid management and the commercial management team to develop and implement the strategy and vision for the team
  • Initiating and coordinating field activities which may include, drilling supervision, waste classification sampling, air sampling, validation sampling, and groundwater sampling

About You
To be considered you need to have:
  • 15+ years working in contaminated land site assessment and remediation or equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrated and extensive knowledge of relevant State and Federal Government legislation with reference to contaminated land and waste
  • Demonstrated sector/team leadership from a similar discipline
  • Experience in managing multiple and conflicting projects to achieve successful outcomes for our customers, our staff and the company
  • Technical knowledge at an expert level with project management systems proficiency, skills, and field experience consistent with the supervisory responsibilities of the position
  • Tertiary education, in a related discipline and preferably post-gradual qualifications in the related field
