Minjar Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in both Western Australia and Queensland. Located in the Goldfields region of WA, Southern Cross Operations is the flagship operation for the company and holds a tenement package in excess of 1,400km2 with significant exploration potential. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, two active underground mines, one active open pit and three new open pits due to commence in 2021. The existing process plant is approximately 30 years old and consists of a three-stage crushing circuit, three ball mills and a conventional CIL circuit.  We are in the process of constructing a new three stage crushing circuit due for completion in mid-2021.

About the role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Light Vehicle Mechanic contributes to the optimisation of the performance, availability and safety of the light  vehicle and mobile equipment fleet by performing preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
  
About you:
The successful candidate will be have a Mechanical Trade Certificate with a minimum of three years working on light vehicles with at least one year of experience with processing plants and preventative maintenance programs and systems. Critical to your success in this role will be your ability build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners with strong problems solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative.
  
Essential qualifications include:
  • Current WA Manual drivers licence
  • Forklift ticket
  • Confined Spaces tickets
  • Working at heights
  • Current WA Manual Driver’s licence
  • Mechanical trade certificate
 Desirable experience include:
  • Experience with Pump and Crusher rebuilds
  • Pipeline installation including poly welding
  • Welding skills
  • Experience with Toyota Landcruiser/Hilux desirable
  • Familiar with Australian Standards, Mines Act and Regulations
