HSEQ Advisor - FIFO ex-Perth

seeking HSEQ Advisor for fulltime position. Must have, or be pending completion of TAE. Must be WA resident.

Iron Mine Contracting (IMC) was formed to provide Civil, Mining, Crushing and Screening and Indigenous partnering opportunities to the West Australian market.

IMC and its associated indigenous Joint Venture partners have been delivering projects to Tier 1 Resource clients including Rio Tinto, Woodside Petroleum, Northern Star Resources FMG, Roy Hill, Saracen Minerals and Newcrest Mining amongst others since 2013.

With an exciting new 5 year scope of works due to commence we are currently seeking experienced HSEQ Advisor with Trainer Assessor qualifications for our new operation in the Pilbara. Within a broader business, this role will be dedicated to the new site on a 2/1 FIFO roster ex-Perth and is an awesome opportunity to be a part of the safety culture from conception.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:  
  • Implementation of the Health Safety & Environmental Management Plan and associated procedures onsite;
  • Ensure adherence to same;
  • Promoting awareness of customer requirements and continual improvement principles with respect to HSEQ;
  • Actively contribute to delivering a project free from incidents, injury and environmental harm
  • Carry out regular site safety inspections and audits;
  • Maintaining project site records;
  • Managing any HSEQ related escalations;
  • Monitoring the status of corrective and preventative actions identified, and provide advice and reports to Project Management on close-out actions
  • Incident management  
  • Other HSEQ duties as required
  • VOC’s
 Successful candidate will demonstrate:  
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the Mining and Civil Construction industry
  • Previous experience providing HSEQ services in a remote environment
  • Relevant qualifications in OH&S (Cert IV), Diploma level or higher
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment – must have
  • Frontline Management qualification - desirable
  • Working knowledge of OH&S legislation & HSEQ management practices
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written,
  • Easy and approachable interpersonal skills with all, from ground staff to CEO
  • Excellent computer skills with a sound knowledge of the MS Office
  • Manual driver’s license
  • Current first aid certification
  • ICAM or Taproot methodology
  • Maintenance background desirable
