St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital (SATH) is a progressive 155 bed private not-for-profit stand-alone facility located in Toowoomba which is in the heart of South East Queensland, less than two hour drive west of Brisbane. The city is the economic and commercial hub of the Darling Downs region with a population of over 160,000 people. SATH’s perioperative suite performs a range of surgical specialties including interventional cardiology, vascular, thoracic, orthopaedics, colorectal, general, urological, neurosurgical, gynaecological, plastics, ophthalmology and ENT. SATH’s perioperative suite has the only Da Vinci Robot in Toowoomba. The busy 11 room suite includes 5 standard operating rooms, a blue Olympus digital theatre, and the only Cardiac Catheterisation Lab and Hybrid Vascular Lab in Toowoomba. Three procedure rooms and a CSSD complete the perioperative suite.

About the Role:
SATH has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Ophthalmology Scrub/ Scout Registered Nurse to work within our perioperative service. Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager you will be tasked with providing high level clinical care within our perioperative service team.
Mandatory Qualification/ Professional Registration/ Other Requirements:
• Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Scrub/ Scout Nurse within ophthalmology specialty
• Previous experience as a Scrub/ Scout Nurse with vitreo-retinal experience (desirable)

• Practice in accordance with the ACORN Standards and St. Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital policy and procedures.
• Ensure both clinical practice and professional standards are identified and maintained in the delivery of safe patient care.
• Demonstrate ability to work effectively in the Scrub/Scout position as part of a high-performing team.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Be proactive in own professional development and maintain competencies, identify learning needs and actively seek opportunities to expand skills and knowledge.
