St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital has opportunities for General Practitioners/ Trainees to work as Career Medical Officers (CMOs) in the hospital.

  • Only candidates holding general registration with AHPRA should apply
  • A minimum of 3 years Australian clinical experience (desired)
  • Experience working independently as an RMO/ GP
St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital is a 155-bed, private, not-for-profit, stand-alone facility located in Toowoomba, in the heart of South East Queensland, 124 kilometres south-west of Brisbane. The city is the economic and commercial hub of the Darling Downs region, with a population of over 160 000 people. Toowoomba offers an exceptional standard of living with access to nationally acclaimed schooling, in close proximity to Brisbane, and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.  
  
St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital offers a range of surgical specialties including vascular, orthopaedic, colorectal, general, urological, plastics, ophthalmology and ENT surgery. It also has an 24 hour Rapid Access Heart Centre (RAHC), and interventional cardiology service.   
The hospital has the only Da Vinci Robot in the Darling Downs Region allowing minimally invasive procedures in urology, ENT and gynaecology. Surgical services are supported by 2 surgical wards. There is an acute medical and palliative care service managed in 2 medical wards, a psychiatry ward, CCU and ICU.  
St Andrew’s also has the only private mental health unit in the Darling Downs.    
  
St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital has opportunities for General Practitioners/ Trainees to work as Career Medical Officers (CMOs) in the RAHC and hospital ward environment. The Hospital CMO provides initial clinical support to the RAHC and to our busy team of visiting specialists. This role is also supported by our onsite 24/7 MET team including the ICU RMO.  
  
Selection criteria: 
  • General registration with AHPRA 
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in Australian hospitals 
  • Experience working independently as an RMO or GP 
  • Good verbal and written documentation skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
