About the Role

The focus of this first 2 year stage is the buying to pay functions. The technology provider has also been chosen as the implementation partner to help the internal project team to deliver the project.

The contractor (Project Manager) will work as an integral part of the internal S2P Project Team and be responsible for the implementation of the selected Source 2 Pay solutions. The technology solutions to be implemented across are SAP Ariba and Fieldglass.

Project Objectives
  • Continue to develop and improve the procurement function to support the department and government priorities
  • Support the Department to procure goods and services in line with value for money principles
  • Simplify the source to pay processes
  • Improve staff productivity through simplification and automation of manual processes
  • Improve visibility of the source to pay processes for buyers, procurement professionals and suppliers
  • Facilitate real time collaboration between the department and its' suppliers.
Key Requirements

Within a relatively complex environment, the contractor (Project Manager) will be required to:  
  • Lead and deliver multiple work packages within the Project in accordance with Agile Principles;
  • Adapt to customer needs to ensure that the deliverables are of the highest quality given fixed time and budget constraints;
  • Plan and coordinate the Project activities and resources to deliver the required outcome within the project budget and timeframes;
  • Incorporate advanced design thinking practises to meet future outcomes;
  • Ensure the timely completion of key Project artefacts;
  • Ensure appropriate project governance and assurance activities are in place throughout.
  • Oversee and collaborate with a cross functional team from the preferred vendor, organisation change management team and internal resources with differing accountabilities;
  • Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Change Management and communications strategy and plan;
  • Provide effective management of risks, issues, conflicts, change requests and priorities;
  • Oversee the development and maintenance the project schedules;
  • Provide direction and support for the project team;
  • Effectively communicate the progress of the project to all stakeholders; and
  • Ensure project administration activities are undertaken in accordance with internal governance and compliance practices.
