Our client is looking for a Drafting Manager to join their team.
As the Drafting Manager, you will provide leadership, management and technical expertise to their current team.  You will be responsible for ensuring deadlines are reached, problems are resolved and budgets are met.  Knowledge of the NZ Building codes, regulations, procedures and practices and council standards must be adhered to. 
You will manage the preparation and lodgment of building and resource consents, checking and signing off other designers consent documents.  Managing a small team, so a strong background in the construction industry is a must, as is resilience.  You will need to ensure your team delivers an excellent level of customer service and meets KPIs.
You will need to have attention to detail, ensure accurate floor, elevation and foundation plans are produced and ensure the team delivers to a high standard of design work.  Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, as you will be dealing liaising between the sales and drafting teams, and working with external drafting and engineers. 
You must be customer-focused and build and maintain a relationship with Building and Planning officer, Councils, Geotech Engineers and industry providers.
  In order to be successful in this role you will have:
  • A National Certificate in Architectural Technology or similar
  • A Current Licensed Building Practitioner Certificate – Design 2
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the NZ building industry
  • Excellent knowledge of the NZ Building code and extensive experience with Councils and consents
  • Experience with ArchiCad Software; Twinmotion rendering and Asana.
