We have a fantastic opportunity that has just popped up for a Educational Leader / Assistant Coordinator to join this not for profit positive parent committee in Sydney's north at Turramurra.

About the role:

This position is for an Educational Leader / Assistant Coordinator to join a large OSHC service catering to 200 children.

The centre runs before and after school care, however no vacation care. This position is still paid during the holidays with an expectation that the time is used to program and plan for the following term or any other items that need doing.

The position sits below an experienced Coordinator and two Deputy Coordinators and is well supported within the team.

The centre understands and values the role of the Educational Leader and is supportive in ensuring to provide them with the support, time and resources they need.

  • OSHC has a focus of providing quality care to children via a play-based program (like a school curriculum) that focuses on the social and emotional development of children.
  • Very child centred - program for the centre to help maintain a range of spontaneous, fun, child driven activities that capture both the interests and passions of the children.

What's involved?
  • Assist the Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator's with the overall management and administration of the service.
  • Create fun programs for the children at the centre.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the service in the temporary absence of the Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator's.
  • Contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
  • Work with the Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator's to develop and deliver a quality service to meet the needs of the children and the school community.
  • Provide a positive, safe and professional environment.
Who are we looking for?
  • A relevant qualification to the childcare / teaching industry or other relevant qualification or working towards.
  • 2 years minimum experience working in a child care setting.
  • Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place, National Quality Standards and National Law and Regulations.
  • Leadership or managing others experience.
  • Great communication, time management, organisational skills and leadership abilities.
  • A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with educators, parents and the school community.
  • CHCPRT001: Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection.
  • HLTAID004: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
