Hireup is an online platform and community for people with disability and their families to find, hire and manage support workers that fit their needs and share their interests. Whether it’s support with getting to work or catching a local footy game, Hireup gives people the tools to live life on their own terms. 
With thousands of registered users and support workers in big cities and remote communities all across Australia, Hireup is a national network of local supports, committed to delivering an individualised approach to support and community-driven future for the disability sector.

As a purpose-led organisation with over 200 HQ staff (and growing), we are dedicated to powering the evolution of the disability sector. We do this by keeping the community at the heart of our decision making and encouraging a culture defined by kindness, innovation, equality and storytelling. 

As our community continues to grow and expand across Australia, our Onboarding team is responsible for the screening and verifying of all new users on Hireup. This makes the team central to the quality of our community, being the first point of contact for all of our new users. Our team loves this about their work and takes pride in delivering a quality customer experience by responding swiftly, communicating clearly and breaking down barriers for each new user. As our community grows at such a fast and exciting pace, our passion for efficient data management and streamlined processes are key to getting the job done.

Onboarding is the gateway to an inclusive, diverse and compliant community with safety, accessibility and choice and control at the forefront. The journey is clear and consistent and understanding of the user as an individual.

The Onboarding team facilitates this journey by verifying, educating, advocating for, and empowering our users so that they can create a profile that allows them to find the right connections. 

Priorities - the work
  • Screening, verifying and reference checking all Hireup applicants looking to provide support (Support Workers)
  • Review and approve the accounts of people seeking support with Hireup
  • Reviewing and verifying necessary documentation for all applicants
  • Ensuring people seeking support have all the tools they need to get started in our community
  • Communicating with, and providing support to people during the application process
  • Maintaining the integrity and quality of approved Hireup profiles
  • Working closely with the Community Support team to provide information and reports on newly approved users
  • Providing additional ad hoc assistance to the Community Support team when required
Skills - the person
  • Drive to support our users in a person centered disability support model
  • A high level of digital literacy
  • Experience in a customer service, administration or retail environment
  • Enjoys working in a team towards team goals, deadlines and weekly KPIs
  • You approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation in a fast paced and flexible environment
  • Strong connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • You exhibit adaptability, resilience, transparency, trustworthiness, passion and innate curiosity
