The Corporate Affairs team works closely with politicians, department officials,  stakeholders, regulators and government to educate them about Hireup, highlight our significant social and economic impact and showcase our incredible work. Corporate Affairs services our business through helping policy makers, investors, media and analysts understand the opportunities that affect our thriving community and advocate for change – expanding our social impact and working towards a society that is truly accessible for all.
 
The Government & Corporate Affairs Officer will join our growing team and immediately enhance Hireup’s advocacy & corporate affairs function on a broad range of public policy issues that are driven by what is best for our community. With an interest in driving political change through passion and continuously growing and adapting, you will report to the Corporate Affairs team and support the implementation of our strategy. Attention to detail, project management skills and communications will be key components for this role. Maintaining enthusiasm and a calm demeanor is key, and supporting the policy and government engagement activities of Hireup through helping us make it structural and systemic to our business will be front and center for this role.  
  
Priorities - the work
  • Execute campaigns, advocacy and government engagement activities
  • Implement campaigns targeting specific stakeholder cohorts or community groups, as well as project manage campaign delivery
  • Replicate and personalise communications across complex stakeholders including industry and analyst activities 
  • Work cross-functionally to build government engagement & corporate affairs strategies and campaigns that promote and enhance the overall reputation of Hireup
  • Support overarching government & corporate affairs activities, including scheduling and representing Hireup in meetings and events with government, elected officials as well as industry stakeholders and investor support 
Skills - the person
  • Experience in administration, project management or communications would be preferred (knowledge of disability and technology sectors would be a significant advantage)
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Independent self-starter with a sense of humour and the ability to thrive in a fast moving, agile environment
  • Strong connection to building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • Approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Exhibit adaptability, resilience, transparency, trustworthiness, passion and innate curiosity
