Founded in early 2015 and based in Sydney, Hireup is a trusted online platform and community for people with disability and their families to find, hire and manage support workers that fit their needs and share their interests. Whether it’s support with getting to work, catching a local footy game or taking the scenic route, Hireup gives people with disability the tools to live the most flexible, seamless and supported life possible. The Hireup team is focused on delivering a quality experience for our users, at the heart of which is our Service team. Comprised of our Community Support, Onboarding & Trust and Safety teams, the Service Department is responsible for ensuring our community is supported to use Hireup in the way that works best for them. As frontline staff, our Service team listens with intent and responds with integrity in its efforts to ensure our users feel heard, supported and satisfied.

Reporting to our Head of Service and working as part of our Service leadership team, this role works cross functionally to build scalable systems & processes that support our safety vision and ethos. You will work with our team to respond with integrity to incidents, complaints and feedback and gather these insights to improve Hireup’s systems. The role will bring an innovative and flexible mindset to the regulatory landscape for service providers, ensuring we’re both compliant and implementing best practice strategies for safety. 

Priorities - the work
  • Lead and grow our trust and safety team which currently includes incident response, support worker employee relations, injury management and wellbeing as well as financial risk
  • Champion a people-focused trust and safety culture and work cross-functionally to ensure this is part of our DNA
  • Run the Safety Steerco to ensure that learnings and insights relating to user safety are embedded into product design
  • Ensure Hireup has world class incident and complaint management procedures and act as the first point of escalation for any major incidents 
  • Lead the NDIS registration process and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies as needed
  • Help your team become the central hub for innovation and growth on safety for our platform; drive new initiatives for positive change and communicate effectively within the broader business

  • Hands on experience leading frontline teams; you work with your people to solve challenges in real time and facilitate positive outcomes
  • Strong operational effectiveness and commercial acumen; you can build and scale processes and teams that support organisational growth 
  • Strong influencing; storytelling and engagement skills; you know how to embed trust and safety into the fabric of organisations
  • Strong connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • Approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Exhibit adaptability, resilience, transparency, trustworthiness, passion and innate curiosity
