Role 

The team at SPC has developed a Health and Safety framework that is ready to be implemented by a passionate, engaging and people focused leader.
The site is a gold mine for someone looking to make their mark, with a business direction and ownership that is actively trying to improve and isn’t afraid to listen and act on well-presented business cases.
  
Ideally, the new Health and Safety Manager will come from an FMCG or Manufacturing background, as it is critical that this person carries some gravitas and ability to listen, understand and inform the mix of new and seasoned people on site.
  
The Health and Safety Manager will lead a small team, and it is of high importance that they have experience managing a team or a project team. A candidate who has proven experience educating, engaging, mentoring and influencing staff is non-negotiable in this position going forward.
  
Reporting to the Head of Risk & Sustainability, the Health & Safety Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the site maintains a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental standards.

As the business continues in its new growth trajectory, it is imperative that the Health & Safety Manager be a hands-on and agile leader with a desire to work towards new company goals.
Your willingness to walk the floor, understand the people, lead with integrity and learn the manufacturing process will be pivotal in order for you to revamp the current safety culture.
  
Skills Required
  
SPC is an organisation filled with friendly, down to earth and agile leaders who are incredibly passionate about the brand, the region and the people within their organisation. Beyond just the below skills, we desire candidates who are excited about the new SPC direction. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a leading safety role within the manufacturing industry.
  • A firm but fair approach to safety across all levels of the business.
  • Formal diploma or above education in Occupational (Work) Health and Safety.
  • Understanding of machine risk assessment.
  • Experience putting business cases forward and raising capex.
  • An engaging approach to program roll outs and training.
