Our client is a market leading Global business who have a proud track record of delivering products for their large customer base across Australia and beyond. This business has multiple categories that it specialises in, however the current focus for the business is to develop their Food & Ingredient offerings.
  
The culture of the Procurement & Category team is one which drives excellence, is highly positive and sets the tone for the rest of the business. The role will be based at the head office in South Eastern suburbs.

ROLE

This role has been designated as a priority in the business as there is a focus on building on its Food & Ingredient categories through improving profitability & quality of current product ranges whilst developing new products to increase their presence in the market.
  
This role is unique as it blends both Procurement & Sourcing with NPD & Marketing category strategies with a focus on driving cost improvement, new products, range improvements and quality across their offerings.

Specifically, this role will entail:
  • Development and implementation of both local & international Sourcing strategies focussed on Raw Materials, Product & Packaging
  • Deliver savings and consolidate range options whilst focussing on growing the range opportunities through market analysis
  • Collaborating with various business units, such as Operations, Sales & Marketing, to support development and influence change in regards to your categories and range development
  • Manage stakeholder and supplier issues in a timely & effective manner
  • Managing one report supporting the category
ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are searching for a candidate who is interested in working for a business who pride themselves on their culture and who are passionate about growing their business and their people. The best fit for this role will be someone who has fun whilst they work, resilient, hardworking, a team player and able to deal with grey area!
  
Specifically we are looking for:
  • 5+ years experience in FMCG sector, preference for Food & Ingredients but open to anything raw material related such as beauty products etc
  • Ability to work productively and maintain high level of quality, innovation and consistent effectiveness even when confronted with change or disappointment
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercially savvy combined with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience sourcing raw materials, new product and packaging on a local and regional level with an FMCG business
  • Strong Microsoft Excel understanding and ability to adapt to new software
