Compounding Pharmacist Team Leader

About the role:
We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity available to join our engaging and collaborative team at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond. With the support of our leaders and the Director of Pharmacy, you will be responsible for managing the day to day compounding team and operations, ensuring that the highest level of pharmacy service is provided to client hospitals and their patients. You will also be involved with the team’s relocation in early 2020 into our brand-new state of the art compounding suite as we continue to grow and expand.  Additionally, you will collaborate with our Quality and Clinical Trials Pharmacist in assisting with the management of clinical trials.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage the ongoing operational requirements and financial success of our Richmond Sterile Compounding Suite  
  • Mentor and manage team members and make sure KPIs are met
  • Participate in the recruitment process and the induction and training of new employees
  • Check the quality of all finished products made in the laboratory and drive a culture of quality and accuracy in collaboration with the Quality and Clinical Trials Pharmacist
  • Monitor inventory including ordering, storage and supply
  • Ensure that proper records of dispensing and other transactions are kept in accordance with established policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines
  • Provide recommendations and drive innovation and efficiency Liaise with and maintain effective relationships with all doctors, nurses, staff, customers and other Slade team members
  
Skills and Experience:
  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Pharmacist
  • Experience in managing, leading and mentoring a team is essential
  • Previous experience in a compounding environment is desirable 
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
