About the role:
Partner with our dynamic and collaborative finance team on a full-time 12-month maternity leave contract. Based at our head office in Mt Waverley, you will work closely with the Financial Controller to support the end of month processes and reporting with a focus on management reporting and analysis. This is an amazing opportunity to provided values added services within an ever-evolving organisation that delivers optimum patient care.
Key duties:
  • Month end processing, including preparation of general journals and accrual entries
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation 
  • Preparation of monthly reports
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Assist with the budget compilation and forecasting process
  • Support year end and audit processes
  • Assist with the formulation of accounting/business policies and procedures
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of reporting systems
  • Assist with monthly KPI reporting and quarterly/annual statistical data 
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required

Skills & experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business/commerce
  • Currently undertaking or completed CA/CPA qualifications 
  • Previous experience in a commercial or chartered accounting environment 
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, FBT, GST, PAYG, payroll tax and workers compensation
  • High attention to detail with the ability to solve problems
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
