About the Role:

The role of Import customer services will see you working within a small close knit team, whilst working within a fast paced environment.  Your focus will be to provide the highest standard of customer support to clients.  We are looking for a person who has a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.  Demonstrated experience in import operations within the freight forwarding industry is mandatory. You will be responsible for the organisation, processing and reporting of imports and end delivery of goods to your clients final destination.  This is an excellent opportunity for career progression for the right person.  By displaying a "can do" attitude, and by utilising the right resources and thinking outside the square to get the job done, you will be recognised for your efforts.
 
Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Scheduling of shipments with both local and overseas agents for air and sea
  • Processing and reporting of imported consignments
  • Registering of jobs in Cargowise for sea, air and domestic road freight
  • Monitoring of shipments in regards to departure dates, transhipment and arrival dates
  • Liaising with Custom Brokers
  • Coordinate and plan cargo deliveries, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Quoting jobs both locally and internationally
  • Experience in domestic freight, including hotshots and a working knowledge of trailer dimensions
  • Monitor end to end processes and drive continuous improvement
  • Job costing and invoicing
  • Tracking of orders and following up with agents
  • Sourcing of transport options
  • Adhere to quality and safety procedures
To be considered for this role you must have the below criteria:
  • Demonstrated import operations 
  • Proficient in EDI Cargowise
  • Administration tasks associated with imported consignments
  • Demonstrated knowledge in International Air and Sea Freight
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the domestic transport industry
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written oral and communication skills.
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft
