Asset Management Engineer (Road / Bridges ) - ACT Gov't

3 mth temp role, plan / deliver maintenance programs, investigate complaints related to infrastructure assets, reports, contract mgnt / tenders

3 month temporary role available for an experienced Asset Management Engineer to assist with the planning and delivery of maintenance programs, investigage public complaints regarding infrastructure assets, providing technical reports, and preparation of briefing notes to Government and Ministerial responses.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist the Director, Program Delivery with the delivery of the annual asset inspection and maintenance programs including development of performance measures for reviewing and evaluating performance of consultants and contractors
  • Manage various projects and consultancies for the maintenance of road assets and liaison with consultants and related stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Prepare briefs and tender documentation, including specifications, for various road maintenance projects.
  • Effective contract management processes to adhere to the Business unit's Contract Management framework
  • This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.

 
Successful applicants will meet the following requirements:
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
  • Hold a relevant building degree; or
  • Have significant building or infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.
  • A demonstrated knowledge and experience of the maintenance and operation of roads and bridges asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contracts and consultancies and experience in tender preparation and administration processes.
  • Demonstrated well developed coordination, research and analytical skills.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of legislation, standards, industry guidelines and statutory requirements related to roads and bridges.
  • Demonstrated sound oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, liaison and representation skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills in Office applications and asset management software.
  • Min. permanent resident of Australia
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence
