An exciting new career opportunity exists for a Senior Aesthetics Team Member to join the Land & Environment team at Peninsula Hot Springs. Our Senior Aesthetics Team Member will be responsible for providing general garden and grounds maintenance to ensure both the visiting public and employees experience tidy, well presented indigenous landscape areas.

Reporting to the Land & Environment Manager, the Senior Aesthetics Team Member will guide the day-to-day work of the aesthetics team while providing support, guidance and leadership to other team members.

In addition, the role will encompass the following accountabilities:
  • Practice sound ecological values during presentation of landscaped areas.
  • Participate in conservation restoration works to achieve Peninsula Hot Springs goals for ecological management.
  • Provide support, guidance and leadership to other team members.
  • Assist the Land Environment Manager in setting tasks and timelines. Ensure project/tasks are delivered as per timelines.
  • Carry out autonomous working on complex tasks.
  • Mentor and train team members across team activities, including assisting new staff.
  • Ensure all site/workplace areas, including tools, are kept tidy and well maintained.
  • Ensure both public and team member safety is maximised via appropriate site organisation, signage and PPE.
  • Evaluate the need for any repairs to be carried out or faults across the site and report these to the Land and Environment Manager.
  • In conjunction with the Land and Environment Supervisor, evaluate options for various sustainable, environmentally friendly business practises.
The perfect profile
You will have a suitable level of experience in public garden landscape maintenance with a strong emphasis on indigenous plants, local to the southern Mornington Peninsula. The capability to work unsupervised combined with your natural ability in time management and organisation skills will assist you in the efficient performance of tasks, sometimes physical, in an outdoor environment across all seasons of the year.

You possess an appropriate Horticultural or Natural Resource Management qualification and maintain an ability to guide and direct staff in a public, recreational environment. You will be highly motivated with a positive can-do attitude, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
