Our Client is an established, multi-national, specialist animal health company who are in the top 10 animal health companies globally and are on a growth journey. While their products have been sold under licence in New Zealand for a number of years, they are excited to now start building their own company presence within the New Zealand market.

We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team.   You will ideally be located in the Waikato, although they may be able to offer a little flexibility for the right person as long as you live close to a major dairy area and within an hours drive of a New Zealand airport with good connections.
Are you knowledgeable in the livestock industry in New Zealand? Do you love working closely with Veterinary Groups, Commercial Managers, Vets, Farmers and livestock? As the Business Development Manager for New Zealand, we need you to deliver sales results by focusing on customer needs and providing solutions with our Client's products.
Reporting the the Business Unit Manager for livestock who is based in Australia, you will be the kind of person that values corporate commercial relationships, nurtures those relationships and is proven to deliver results. You can grasp technical data and scientific knowledge but are equally capable of disseminating that information to a variety of audiences.  You have loads of personal drive, are highly motivated to succeed, are able to work autonomously and have a knack for building and nurturing commercially beneficial business relationships.
We’re looking for someone with:
  • Demonstrated business development / strategic sales experience in the dairy industry in New Zealand;
  • Proven experience in meeting or exceeding sales and profit targets;
  • An ability to build and nurture strategic customer relationships;
  • An ability to learn and disseminate technical information;
  • Experience with reproduction products would be advantageous (but not essential);
  • Established relationships within Veterinary Groups within New Zealand;
  • Comfortable on farm and around livestock - an affinity with rural New Zealand is key;
  • Flexible and happy to do what it takes to get the job done - you will be the only livestock employee based in New Zealand at this stage;
  • Experience working within the dairy industry would be ideal (but not essential);
  • Is passionate about rural New Zealand and is driven to succeed;
  • Has the ability to travel frequently as part of their role - this role is a national role, although the majority of your time will be spent in major dairy areas.  You must be able to occasionally travel internationally also;
