The Faculty of Business and Law comprises of Curtin Law School and Curtin Business School which ranks in the top ten business schools across Australia. Your new role

The Academic Communication Development (ACD) Lecturer provides expertise and support for all students developing academic literacies, language and learning skills. The ACD team predominately focuses on the transition and preparedness to tertiary studies of our student cohorts but also includes communication literacies, language and learning skills needed across our educational programs/ business disciplines.

This is delivered through comprehensive curriculum design, extra curricula initiatives, and support resource development at all course/ student levels, and creates the opportunities that students engage with and practice the transferable communication skills needed in an ever-changing and fast paced business world.
  
You will bring to the role
  • To be successful in this role, you will require a doctoral qualification, or significant progress in PhD studies, in a relevant discipline, and or a combination of teaching qualification/ experience, such as Master of Education in a complimentary areas such as:
    • Applied Linguistic, Literacies, English as a Second Language instruction and Post Compulsory Education
  • Established high level teaching skills with a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience to undertake unit coordination.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with a student centric approach.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of participants.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction as well as collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
