Your new role

The IT Architecture team, within the Digital & Technology Solutions area, is responsible for the strategy and planning in alignment with University Strategy.  The Enterprise Data Architect will collaboratively design, develop and drive the data strategy and architecture to enable Curtin’s business goals. You will work closely with peers, and the Manager, Architecture to deliver architecture, roadmaps and standards necessary to deliver Curtin’s digital strategy and roadmap. 
What you will be doing: 
  • Develop target state architecture, roadmap and transition plans, leveraging appropriate emerging trends and technology to build a cutting edge data and advanced analytics capability to enable a data driven enterprise.
  • Co-design, develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Partner with the Solution Architects to ensure that all solutions designs align with the enterprise architecture.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall Enterprise Architecture framework.
  • Stay current on enterprise technologies and innovation that may impact the higher education sector.   
You will
  • Fully participate and engage in the team culture, mindset and philosophies by modelling the DTS team’s and Curtin’s behaviours and values.
  • Think strategically but remain pragmatic with delivery.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of data architecture – standards, approaches, deliverables and methodologies.
  • Demonstrate high level interpersonal, verbal and written, business-focused communication skills and a proven ability to liaise and negotiate professionally with multiple stakeholders.
  • Build strong and effective relationships with other managers and teams within IT to ensure solutions meet the University’s business requirements.
  • Demonstrate high level conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate and champion a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Directorate.  
Applicants must have working rights within Australia to apply for this position.  It is desirable that, where an applicant is applying, especially where they have security architecture domain skills and experience,  that they are Australian Citizens with the capability to obtain an Australian Government baseline security clearance.
