Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS)

Digital & Technology Solutions is Curtin University’s internal IT function focused on delivering enterprise digital and technology solutions across the University. We deliver these solutions by using a trusted partner and business IT model that is based upon the Curtin values and a new set of IT team philosophies.

Having recently transformed our approach and structure to ensure we are driving innovation in a fast, scalable and agile manner that delivers an impact the first time – we are now ready to deliver our new IT improvement strategy and build the next 5 year digital roadmap with the University.

Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager with experience as a technical lead, development manager or architect.  You will be responsible for driving the culture, managing the team and providing strong technical leadership.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Leading, growing and mentoring a team of experienced front end developers
  • Taking a lead role in the design and delivery of the future state vision for IA,UX,DX persona experiences
  • Collaborating with other teams to produce best in class products, and ensure continuous improvement of our cutting edge technologies, techniques and processes
  • Fully participating and engaging in the team culture, mindset and philosophies by modelling the DTS team’s and Curtin’s behaviours and values
  • Ensuring development standards are well maintained and documented
  • Developing and maintaining your knowledge of industry trends, best practice and leading technology
You will bring to the role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with extensive software development experience and experience as a technical lead, development manager or architect
  • High level of conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to analyse and evaluate the impact of strategic technology issues on organisational operations and initiate appropriate responses and recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully leading and managing a client focused and diverse team of specialist IT staff in a large and dynamic enterprise
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate and influence cross functional teams and cultivate a positive work environment
  • Strong background in .net, Angular, C# and supporting toolsets in an AZURE or AWS cloud environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, and in particular its application within an agile environment, using agile tools, techniques and methodologies
