Who is Standards Australia?
We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, recognised by the Australian Government as the peak non-government Standards body. We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely across government, industry, consumer and stakeholder groups.

About the role

The Public Affairs Officer will be responsible for managing our established digital and online communications channels, and liaising with media outlets.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate communications on behalf of SA
  • Manage incoming media inquiries 
  • Help with the development of key communication activities
  • Manage key projects 
  • Oversee concept development of online content including our internal and external newsletter
  • Assist in the drafting and editing of content, blog posts, speeches and presentations 
  • Assist with the development of the SA Annual Report
What are we looking for?

We are looking for a detail orientated individual with excellent writing skills. 

The successful candidate will have:
  • A degree in Communications/Media/Arts
  • 2 years experience in a similar role 
  • Experience communicating technical material to wide audiences 
  • Experience with Kentico, WordPress and EDM
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
