About the role
The Senior Business Analyst will work with the Project Managers, cross-functional team members, customers and  end  users,  to  elicit,  analyse,  specify,  and  validate  business  requirements.
They will support the development process, and ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications.
In  addition,  the  Senior  Business  Analyst  will  act  as  mentor  and  team  leader  for  the  existing  team  of  Business Analysts, managing performance, encouraging best practices and ensuring consistency in deliverables.
Key responsibilities
  • Leadership, management and mentoring of the BA team, including performance management and workload & capacity planning
  • Assess, plan and implement strategies to uplift the BA team’s capability, supporting the IT Program Delivery team’s transition towards Agile and DevOps practices
  • Business requirements gathering and analysis, including conducting workshops and collaborating with project, business and external stakeholders
  • Management of Business process change, including process design, change impact analysis and action planning, training and implementation
  • Support the project team in the end-to-end delivery of initiatives in accordance with the agreed SDLC and project management disciplines
  • Participate in testing, and implementation activities, and support the IT Operations handover process
  • Assist with the development and delivery of internal and external training
  • Co-coordinate and effectively communicate with business stakeholders, clients and senior management, and vendors / technology partners as required
  • Ensure that all projects deliver clear business value
What are we looking for?
The Senior Business Analyst will be well-organised with excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
They will need to have:
  • Experience managing, mentoring and guiding team members
  • Performance management experience
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • A strong technical understanding of API specifications and XML data formats
  • An aptitude for understanding business objectives and processes and translating them into business and functional design specifications and user stories that can be delivered by the IT development team
  • Experience in creating business requirements documents, functional design specifications, user stories and test plans
  • The ability to work as part of a team and with minimal direction
  • The ability drive consensus
