Who is Standards Australia?

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, recognised by the Australian Government as the peak non-government Standards body. We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely across government, industry, consumer and stakeholder groups.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Stakeholder Engagement, the Engagement Support Officer is responsible for the management of committee facilitation. In addition, you will be required to provide ad hoc support for the wider stakeholder engagement team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre and post meeting preparations such as drafting meeting agendas, minutes and distribution of meeting papers
  • Liaise with individual committee members to follow up on action items and discussion points
  • Management of international balloting process
  • Project Management support for committee projects
  • Weekly review and distribution of committee documentation
  • Staying informed of the committee subject matter and activities
What are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have the ability to provide support to multiple committee tasks simultaneously, without compromising on communication and attention to detail. In addition you will have:
  • 3+ years’ experience in an office administration role
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate and explain information, both verbally and written, to all internal and external stakeholders
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work autonomously
  • The ability to deal with competing priorities and a proactive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks
  • Ability to schedule, monitor and manage work to optimise the use of time and effort
  • Experience utilising project management methodologies will be highly regarded
