Who is Standards Australia?

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, recognised by the Australian Government as the peak non-government Standards body.  We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely with government, industry, consumer and stakeholder groups.

About the Role

Sitting within the Development Team, the Full Stack Developer is responsible for the development, design and implementation of new or modified software products or ongoing business projects, as well as providing application support as required.  Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop, maintain, and debug existing applications (HTML5 / Angular)
  • Develop, code and document additional modules and interfaces
  • Improve existing applications using new technology/framework
  • Write unit test plans and provide coordination and support of testing using different tools
  • Develop Microsoft (.Net) based solutions using MVC framework
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Documenting the application specifications and translate technical requirements into application code
  • Be an advocate of best practices and enforce the application of agile and prototype based SDLC for systems development
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to architectural specifications
  • Consistently deliver high-quality projects and good time management

What are we looking for?
  • 3-5 years of experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining .NET applications
  • Strong web development skills in C#, ASP.Net, MVC, Web API
  • Sound understanding in working with agile development methodology
  • Understanding of API Security Best Practices
  • UI and web design capabilities using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Experience in SQL Server
  • 2 years’ experience with Angular 2+, React (or similar framework)
  • A strong full stack development background with real-world experience
  • Excellent front end experience with ES6, SASS and Webpack
  • The capacity to design and create usable interfaces encompassing both desktop and mobile devices with responsive design techniques
  • Experience with Git, BitBucket, NPM and CI/CD using Jenkins
