Who is Standards Australia?

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, recognised by the Australian Government as the peak non-government Standards body.  We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely with government, industry, consumer and stakeholder groups.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager Strategy and Engagement, this role will be instrumental for building out a team, developing and embedding the capability, and managing third party licensing and channel partner relationships for Standards Australia. In addition, the Head of Licensing will be responsible for building sustainable capability for the distribution and licensing of Standards Australia content through third party arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, develop and manage new and existing distributor relationships and partner alliances
  • Using a strategic framework, initiate and develop opportunities
  • Ensure the retention, growth and client satisfaction of partners and distributors
  • Analyse and report on distributor and partner sales, revenues, forecasts and other KPIs
  • Provide market intelligence and monitor competitive and international activity with the ability to make recommendations regarding risks and opportunities
  • Take ownership of pricing policies, framework and workflows
  • Prepare an annual sales target plan, with a promotional support budget, for each partner and distributor
  • Build the capabilities and skills of the licensing, IP compliance and copyright team to ensure results and performance
What are we looking for?
Minimum Education/Professional Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) plus years’ experience preferably in IP businesses such as B2B publishing, professional services or information solutions
  • Experienced in understanding and managing end-to-end legal and contractual documents as they pertain to IP, licensing, partnerships and distribution
  • Commercially focused with a track record of demonstrable results
  • An accomplished business development or key account professional
Skills and Experience:
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, flat organisation where leaders, managers and colleagues are empowered to deliver results
  • A proactive communicator and self-starter with energy, drive and a strong work ethic
  • Well-developed negotiating, influencing and relationship building skills combined with good numeracy, analytical and organisational capabilities
  • A trusted, collaborative team player, capable of being strategic or pragmatic as required
