Who is Standards Australia?

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation, recognised by the Australian Government as the peak non-government Standards body.  We develop internationally aligned Australian Standards in the national interest and work closely with government, industry, consumer and stakeholder groups.

About the Role

As Team Leader you will be leading and motivating a team of Committee Managers, providing coaching, guidance and support and driving team performance. This role would suit a personable and experienced Team Leader with exposure to project delivery and strong relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 5-10 Committee Managers to ensure effective delivery of Standards
  • Lead and facilitate regular team meetings and individual coaching sessions
  • Drive team performance and the delivery of high quality customer service
  • Provide regular feedback and manage any performance issues in a timely manner and in accordance with organisational guidelines
  • Monitor the delivery of Standards from start to finish
  • Ensure Standards Australia's policies /project management methodology are being applied consistently
  • Ensure risks are assessed and appropriately mitigated
  • Provide input on ways to improve the standards development process
  • Take ownership of key business strategy initiatives and drive departmental change
What are we looking for?
  • Previous experience in a people management or a team leader role, ideally in a contact centre environment
  • Proven track record in developing high performing teams
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people at all levels
  • Passion for coaching and mentoring
  • Exposure to project and process management
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills
