Nexia Canberra would like to engage a Tax Consultant for our growing specialist Tax Consulting Division. The division's primary role is to advise clients on the application of Australia's and other countries’ tax laws with a special emphasis on International Tax advice for clients with Australian and UK tax issues.
The position requires a person with excellent English writing skills, an ability to understand factual situations and how the tax law might apply to those situations. The person will also need to have good research skills and be able to work in a team environment. The position requires attendance in our office in Canberra.
The role requires the preparation of written and verbal advice which is accurate and succinct.

The person will also be able to contribute ideas or suggestions to our continually developing client base and to the services that we offer our clients; that is, there is opportunity to become involved in the development of our business.

We require the person to have an accounting and/or law degree and have at least 3 years’ work experience in a tax consulting role or at a senior technical level in the ATO. Experience in Excel, Word and accounting/tax software is desired. Previous experience in the completion of tax returns will also be valued.
Encouragement is given to our Tax Consultants to continue studies such as the Chartered Tax Adviser program, the Chartered Accountants program or a Masters degree in tax law.
