We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our busy Finance team based in the Melbourne CBD.

We work with government departments, owners, architects and engineers to design and build custom buildings across a broad range of industries. As a turnkey construction company, we provide pre-construction assistance, project schedule development as well as construction management services.
 
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role suit a candidate who is highly meticulous and results-focused. The key responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with the month end processes and reporting
  • Overhead variance analysis & reporting
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with the budget and forecasting processes
  • Maintenance of the job costing system including job creation and maintenance
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register, including asset additions, disposals and depreciation
  • Assisting with tax requirements including GST and FBT
  • Assisting with audit procedures and internal and external reporting requirements
  • Daily banking & bank reconciliation.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
  • Bachelor in Accounting / Finance or related field
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with personnel at all levels of the business
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sound statistical, analytical and administrative skills
  • Good computer skills, particularly with regards to MS Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or other ERP system (desirable)
  • CA / CPA or other professional qualification, or progression towards obtaining said qualification (desirable)
  • Experience with construction accounting (desirable)
  • Experience with job costing (desirable).
