Payroll Officer


Fast paced environment, supporting an organisation of 250+ employees within a collaborative team of 7. Must have high-attention to detail.

  • Minimum 2 years experience with Payroll
  • ERP software experience is preferred
  • Excellent time-management ability
This opportunity at Johnstaff has come about due to the current workload within the team. You will be working within a collaborative environment of 7 in the Finance team who sit within the larger Corporate Services team of 18. Reporting to and getting support from our highly experience Payroll Manager. 

The responsibilities below outline potential daily duties:
Payroll responsibilities:
  • Setting up new employees & updating + maintaining employee records;
  • Process weekly wages and submit to payroll manager for payment;
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly wages, termination payments & staff payroll enquiries;
  • Preparation and processing of director invoices & employee expenses;
  • Assist with the management of employee entitlement, uploading monthly super contributions & submitting monthly/annual payroll tax returns;
  • Assist with the processing of payroll related statutory obligations such as PAYG, workers compensation, Incolink and CoInvest; and
  • Assist with liaising with Centrelink regarding staff enquiries, paid parental leave and issue separation certificates when required.
General responsibilities:
  • Ad-hoc reporting and duties where required; and
  • Filing of all payroll documentation
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Payroll;
  • Exposure to Greentree or other ERP software would be beneficial but not essential; and
  • Must have a collaborative mindset, references will be conducted.
