The Company:

Our client located near the Alexandria precinct is the world’s leading global logistics provider handling everything from logistics to customized shipping solutions.  Due to internal movement an opportunity has become available for an experienced Inventory Controller with the ability to step into a leadership role.

The Position:
  • Supervise the unloading of shipping containers
  • Ensure all goods are received according to set standards and KPI’s
  • Ensure recording and advice on all non conforming receipts
  • Maintain the accuracy of the inventory at all times
  • Ensure any issues are immediately brought to the attention of the Management
  • Ensure all orders due for dispatch are identified and processed within the agreed time frames
  • Ensure all non conformance in regards to deliveries are brought to the attention of Management and the relevant customer/customer service agents
  • Maintain accurate handover to the carrier(S)
  • Ensure all freight is manifested correctly and signed acceptance for all goods is received at point of handover
  • Ensure all data transfers are activated correctly
  • To provide key data for reporting, or where relevant actual reporting
  • Ensuring the work area is kept clean and tidy and in alignment with both 5S an OH&S guidelines
  • Ensuring quality and safety controls are met
  • Receipt of returns within agreed time frames and accurately
  • Stock-takes, cycle counts and bin checks processed as required.
  • Providing back-up for warehouse supervisors as required.
  • Fulfill other duties as directed
The Candidate:
  • Superior communication skills
  • Proven Customer Service experience
  • Good understanding of commercials
  • Experience managing small teams or allocating work
  • Understanding of process improvement principles
  • Sound understanding of WHS policy and procedures
  • General understanding of Business principles where appropriate
  • Intermediate understanding of Warehouse Management systems
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and authorities which impact on your area of responsibility
  • Forklift licence desirable
