A well-established, multi-disciplinary Planning and Engineering consultancy, with offices in the Waikato. They are innovative in their approach to projects and the team has a breadth of experience working both in New Zealand and overseas. They have a real family feel and have quite an outdoorsy and adventurous culture. They value work-life balance and take a progressive approach to the modern working world. 

The company has a diverse portfolio of clients across the energy, environmental, development and public sectors. They are now looking to grow the team in their Hamilton office.

About the role

We are looking for a Planner with at least seven years’ relevant experience related to environmental, resource or urban planning.

This role would focus on leadership, strategy, project management and business development.

The role responsibilities would include:
  • Provide leadership to the Planning team.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Implement initiatives to aid business growth, including advertising and promotion.
  • Take responsibility for the financial planning of the Waikato Planning team.
What we are looking for
  • At least seven years’ relevant planning experience across environmental, resource or urban planning.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification.
  • Experience managing or supervising a team advantageous, but not essential with the right attitude and skillset.
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with staff, clients and contractors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
