The Team
Working within our HR team, and working closely with Shine’s leaders, Corporate Services team and HR Business Partners, this is an exciting opportunity with a national reach for an energetic Wellbeing and Safety Advisor to join our friendly, driven Brisbane CBD head office team, on a 12 month fixed term contract. 
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this standalone role is a unique opportunity for you to engage with our business and take full ownership of Shine’s Employee Wellness program, driving employee care for all of Shine including injury management, return to work activities, and safety compliance activities, across our national offices.
Please note that Shine is supportive of flexible work practices, and opportunities for remote onboarding exist during this time.
The Role
You’ll be an engaging injury management and/or safety professional, who is passionate about enhancing the health and wellness of our employees. You’ll work closely with our HR Business Partners and will take them and our business leaders on the journey of enhancing employee care across the business, working closely with our people to wellbeing and safety initiatives to national engagement initiatives and business needs.
You’ll also manage and support workers compensation claims and provide specialist advice to our leaders on the management of workers compensation, managing and supporting ill and injured workers, and return to work programs.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining compliance with Shine’s workplace health and safety management system, coordinate a national audit schedule and action relevant compliance actions, as well as review risks throughout the business and implement mitigation strategies, in conjunction with our Corporate Services team.
Key to this role is the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, and a passion to embed wellness programs and safety throughout our business.
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing an employee wellbeing and safety program within a geographically dispersed professional services environment
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, acting as an advisor and coach
  • Ability to coach and educate leaders and employees on wellbeing and safety requirements and initiatives
  • Sound knowledge of WH&S legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing investigations, return to work programs, and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Experience writing and delivering WHS Training, conducting audits, risk assessments and identifying hazards
  • Experience working with WH&S systems
  • Experience completing ergonomic assessments
  • A team focused mentality, and an ability to work effectively as part of an immediate and wider team
  • Flexibility to travel (inter and intrastate) as required
