The Director of Medical Services will provide strong inclusive leadership promoting the Vision, Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.

C-SUITE PARTNERS PL is exclusively partnering with St John of God Health Care for the appointment of their Director of Medical Services at St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
Key requirements include but not limited to:
  • Provide effective leadership to the Hospital’s VMOs, including:
    • Clearly communicate relevant information regarding Hospital requirements and strategy
    • Address any clinical or behavioural performance issues promptly and fairly.
  • Undertake a senior leadership role in the Division with active participation in decision making as a member of the hospitals
    Divisional Management Committee
  • Leads the Directorate in all aspects of Clinical Governance.
  • Advises the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on all matters of medical policy and leads conversations with doctors regarding the resolution of clinical issues or performance management on behalf of the CEO
  • Provides high-level support to credentialing (including meeting with potential doctors to determine their suitability), on-boarding and scope of practice for medical staff.
  • Fosters/promotes education, teaching and research as appropriate, supporting medical training, doctor supervision and assisting in the development of training programmes across WA Hospitals.
  • Demonstrates a commercial outlook in support of the Hospitals strategy and targets, and shares in the development and ownership of the annual budget with the DMC.
Background & Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership appointment, with at least three years in a senior leadership role within Health
  • Registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health
    Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in acute health care including the achievement of high-quality patient outcomes, service satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Proven ability to develop and meet strategic and operational objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in leading major change in a health care environment. A successful history of working closely with medical practitioners to achieve common goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and facilitate effective patient-centred multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
