Join a successful Australian retailer that is passionate about their people, product, and customer in a newly created Remuneration and Payroll Manager position.

As the Remuneration and Payroll Manager, you will lead a team across payroll and report to the GM of Human Resources. Your responsibilities will be both strategic and operational and the ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves is pivotal to the success of this position. In saying that, the business will look to you to provide strategic direction implementing best practice.
Responsibilities will include;

  • Implementing payroll, remuneration and benefits policies and related practices
  • Creation of the remuneration and benefits strategy
  • Overseeing and managing the Payroll administration team
  • Reviewing, streamlining, and implementing processes
  • Running the weekly and fortnightly payroll inclusive of commission payments.
  • Overseeing the administration of all month and year-end activities (including interface with finance and tax), and calculation and payment of payroll tax and superannuation contributions. Including reconciliations and audits.
  • Providing interpretation and counsel to line managers regarding policies, programs, and practices
  • Maintenance of relevant policies to ensure compliance with employment law and regulations
  • Providing monthly, weekly, and board reporting
This position will be suited to an experienced Payroll and Remuneration Manager who has a proven track record in working in fast-paced, changing, and evolving environments. Experience managing a team is required to be able to develop and grow capabilities and skill sets. You will have experience in leading change projects (system implementation) – reviewing procedures, policies, and systems to then make recommendations moving forward.

This is a hands-on position and as such you will be out in the business, engaging with your key stakeholders, learning about their business, to be able to provide the support they require. You will enjoy leading a team and have experience in developing individuals. You will partner closely with the GM of Human Resources and will be the SME for Payroll and Remuneration and Benefits.
