ARCARE LOGAN RESERVE (BRISBANE - Queensland) 

Arcare Logan Reserve is seeking passionate and experienced Psychologist/Social Worker to join this brand-new aged care residence which will provide high level of support and care for 90 clients (including sensitive care/dementia) and set to open in April 2021.

About the Role
Arcare is looking for a Psychologist/Social worker to be a part of the direct support delivery team for clients and provide direct support to families. Client service provision will include one on one counselling and (cognitive behavioural therapies) group counselling, setting up and conducting group sessions that focus on client psychosocial wellbeing; case conferencing; actively identifying depression and other mental health concerns, with referrals to GPs.
The Psychologist/Social Worker will also be involved in the Lifestyle area of support delivery and assist team members and volunteers through education and coaching to develop a wholistic understanding to build exceptional experience for all at Arcare.
Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social work
  • Registered as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or as a Social Worker with Australian Association of Social Workers or Registration must be provide
  • A broad understanding of issues experienced by the elderly
  • Able to manage complex cases
  • Experience in developing and conducting wellbeing programs
  • Experience in conducting one on one group counselling sessions
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current Police Clearance and Statutory Declaration that does not preclude working in Aged Care
  • Knowledge of ACFI, Accreditation and the Aged Care regulatory environment (desirable)
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, including Excel skills
  • Genuine interest or passion to work in this rewarding industry
