The City Rail Link Project is the largest transport infrastructure project undertaken in New Zealand.  The scope of the 5-year rail project’s largest and most complex works package (Contract 3), comprises the design, construction and 15+ year maintenance solution for the Auckland City Rail’s tunnels, stations and systems. This includes two new stations (at Aotea and Karangahape Road), a new connection and redeveloped station at Mt Eden, and the underground tunnels connecting these stations. 
The consortium of large local and international constructors and designers delivering C3 is the Link Alliance, and our team includes Vinci Construction Grands Projet S.A.S, Downer NZ, Soletanche Bachy International NZ, WSP Opus (NZ), AECOM New Zealand and Tonkin + Taylor. 

The Role
We're currently looking for Skilled Labourers to join the team.  This is a development opportunity for someone with 1 – 2 years’ experience in the construction industry who is looking to develop their skills, knowledge and career in the construction industry.  Successful candidates will ensure work is carried out in a professional manner, following the instructions of the team leader (Leading Hand) or Foreman, depending on the size of the crew.  This role is 100% working on site and will involve use of construction materials and tools in an efficient and safe manner.

Key tasks and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Operate and care for construction equipment, machines and power tools correctly and ensure daily plant/power tool checks are carried out
  • Maintain good relations with team-mates
  • Build an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements relating to regulatory and industry standards
  • Assist in maintaining a proper supply of concrete or other building materials so that operations remain constant
  • Help equipment or plant operator, carpenters, and other skilled labour when necessary and take initiative
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards; perform site clean-up as required
  • Load or unload construction materials
  • Remove, fill, or compact earth as required.

  • You're keen to learn new skills, are motivated to do a good job and you're reliable.
Qualifications & Experience
  • ConstructSafe Tier 1 Ticket
  • 1 - 2 years’ construction experience
  • Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
  • Working at Heights
  • Knowledge of concrete or formwork
  • Willing to gain New Zealand qualifications and go on BCITO training or other relevant courses related to the industry.
