About the project
The City Rail Link (CRL) is a game-changer for Auckland. It’s NZ’s largest government funded transport infrastructure project ever and we are committed to boosting economic activity by providing jobs to Aucklanders in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The CRL is a 3.45km twin tunnel, transforming the dead-end station at Britomart, creating two new stations at Aotea and Karangahape Road and reconnecting to the network at a redeveloped Mt Eden station.

About the role
As part of the preparation to handover the Link Alliance works to the Asset Owner and its Operations and Maintenance Entity, the Link Alliance will undertake a process of preparing and training the Organisation to ensure it is fully prepared to assume ownership of the asset.

The Railway Operations Specialist, part of the Operational Readiness & Handover Management team, will be responsible for the technical leadership, process definition, control and monitoring as well as overall operation readiness activities. In order to achieve acceptance, the Operations Specialist will undergo a comprehensive test program, tests plans and associated test procedures to meet the requirements of the Testing Phases.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with the External Stakeholders such as Kiwi Rail and Auckland Transport to align the testing sequence and procedures.
  • Prepare and issue a test plans detailing the testing scenarios, programme, pass/fail criteria, evidence management, resources, systems and logistics required.
  • Prepare and issue an ‘Operation and Maintenance Manuals Production Plan’, defining the structure of the documentation required for a successful handover.
About You:
  • Graduate Engineer, or equivalent, in fields related to software, rail systems or automation.
  • 8+ years of experience in major railway construction/O&M project
  • 8+ years in Systems Engineering and Systems Validation
  • Significant experience in Railway Testing and Commissioning
  • Experience in Systems Configuration and Migration
