General labour for TBM water treatment plant build
This role is a development opportunity for someone with 1 – 2 years’ experience in the construction industry who is looking to develop further their skills, knowledge and career in the construction industry. The skilled labourer ensures work is carried out in a professional manner, following the instructions of the team leader (leading hand) or Foreman, depending on the size of the crew. This role is 100% working on site and will involve use of construction materials and tools in an efficient and safe manner.

- Operate and care for construction equipment, machines and power tools correctly and ensure daily plant/power tool checks are carried out
- Work in alignment with the leading hand to deliver tasks to meet project targets, ensuring their productivity adds value to the team
- Maintain good relations with teammates
- Have the ability to communicate well with team members at all levels
- Build an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements relating to regulatory and industry standards
- Able to problem solve and have a collaborative approach with other team members
- Assist in maintaining a proper supply of concrete or other building materials so that operations remain constant
- Help equipment or plant operator, carpenters, and other skilled labour when necessary and take initiative
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards; perform site clean-up as required
- Load or unload construction materials
- Remove, fill, or compact earth as required
- Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
- Work well in all weather and under pressure
- Able to communicate well with others and is a team player
- ConstructSafe Tier 1 Ticket
- 1 - 2 years’ construction experience
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
- Working at Heights
- Has knowledge of concrete or formwork
- Keen and willing to learn and motivated to do a good job
- Willing to gain New Zealand qualifications and go on BCITO training or other relevant courses related to the industry.
- Works in alignment within a small team to deliver tasks to meet project targets:

- Contributes to Morning Team Briefing (pre-start) and Weekly Toolbox Talks
- Maintains good relations with teammates
- Has the ability to converse with team members
- Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements relating to regulatory and industry standards
