Lead a small team in Perth to scope, develop, deploy & support by-wire system modules to unlock control of the control of autonomous vehicles.

Are you Embedded C++ Technical Team Leader with experience in Automotive Control Systems?
A global leader in autonomy is establishing an office in Perth which will undertake product development, deploy product & support customers in the mining sector. You will lead a small and talented team of engineers in the newly established office whilst working closely with an engineering team in the US.  You will be responsible for scoping with the leadership team, developing, deploying and supporting customer projects by developing and leveraging current generation and next generation by-wire system modules used to unlock control of autonomous vehicles.
To be considered for this role you will need to possess the following:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor level engineering degree (electrical, mechanical, software)
  • Experience with both C++ and model based design
  • Experience leading small technical teams
  • Natural drive to find innovative solutions to challenging problems 
  • Direct experience analyzing and decoding CAN bus communication or ability to prove capable to perform the task
  • Knowledge of automotive control systems including functionality of power steering, throttle and braking systems
  • Professional, self-motivated, detail oriented
  • Experience managing direct customer conversation  
One or more of the following are highly desirable: 
  • Masters/PHD level engineering degree (electrical, mechanical, software)
  • Direct development experience w/ by-wire systems for autonomous vehicle control
  • Direct experience leading globally distributed technical teams
The role is based in the Perth CBD and will require some travel (no more than 20%) to support customers. This is a permanent position offering an attractive remuneration, career path and the opportunity to be involved in transforming mining through autonomy.
