Warehouse Dispatcher - Steel


Opportunity for Dispatcher to work both in office and warehouse, Allocation and Coordination of the trucks.

About the Opportunity
We are looking for someone with who has a strong understanding of the Steel industry to take the step up into a role of higher responsibility. Part of your role will be involved in general warehousing duties, picking structural steel beams, pipe and tube. You will also be in charge of dispatch of steel to ensure orders are delivered in a timely manner, and liaising with our sales team, warehouse staff and truck drivers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Allocation and coordination of our truck fleet to get deliveries done on time
  • Collating daily orders and uploading them to our logistics system
  • Liaising across different business units such as the sales team, truck drivers and warehouse teams to ensure successful delivery to customer expectations.
  • Creating strong relationships with suppliers, clients and transport team
  • Picking steel products using the overhead gantry crane (training will be provided)
  • Maintain housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding areas when required
  • WHS requirements and documentation 
About you
  • Understanding of steel products (structural steel, merchant bar, steel pipes and tubes as well as a whole range of flat products and angle)
  • Having a truck licence or previous experience driving would be useful
  • 3 years’ experience working in the warehouse / factory environment
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and various software
  • Customer service experience would be valuable
  • Ability to perform general warehousing duties / pick packing as a big part of your role
