THE ROLE

As a Community Care Worker, you are a critical part of the Prestige team. This role anticipates people’s needs and understands that knowing how a client enjoys their cup of tea, is just as important as the personal care. Our Carers are committed to helping people live happily and safely in their homes for as long as possible.

Daily tasks will include:
  • Transport shifts: driving clients to appointments, escorting for special events
  • Personal care:showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, hygiene
  • Domestic Assistance:light cleaning, laundry, meals, shopping, pet care, paying bills
  • Companionship: build rapport and socialisation
Your Full Time or Part Time roster will be built up with client visits spanning the North Shore, Lower North Shore and North Sydney, you MUST be prepared to travel in and around these areas. We have of variety of shifts which include working across the Monday to Sunday week - AM shifts starting from 7am, right through to afternoon, evening and overnight care. The minimum shift with one client is 1 hour right through to 24/7 care.

ABOUT YOU

You have a knack for helping people which makes you reliable and people trust you.

You are a fantastic communicator. You are not easily flustered and remain calm and collected in all sorts of situations. You understand that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously and have a healthy sense of humour, you can enjoy a laugh.

You know how to get your point across to be understood and you easily understand others. After having met you, people remember the way you made them feel. This is probably because of a natural warmth you demonstrate and the fact that you are a good listener.

You will also have the following:
  • Lived experience in looking after loved ones living with disabilities, or in aged care
  • Qualifications OR previous work experience in aged care, disability, home and community care or nursing
  • A current driver’s licence, a reliable roadworthy vehicle
Our Carers are from all walks of life. You could be looking for a career change (we can provide on the job training and accreditation in the form of a Certificate IV in Individual Support), you have exceptional customer service skills, perhaps experience in airlines, hospitality or tourism or are perhaps an empty nester with the ability to care and assist individuals.
