This highly valued member body focusing on the health and well-being of Australians have been instrumental in contributing to strategic research, analysis and policy development on many issues affecting our national health reforms.  Through advocacy, supporting research and working closely with both state and federal government they have achieved wonderful outcomes.  To continue this success, they are looking to recruit a Policy and Advocacy professional to further strengthen their capability.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Policy and Advocacy you will be tasked with the following: -
  
  • Generate employment opportunities for exercise and sports science professionals through the development and delivery of policies, key projects, funding programs and innovation;
  • Drive industry and policy change by identifying key stakeholders and engaging them in the organisations advocacy;
  • Support members working in the industry to understand key challenges ensuring that you can adapt to the changes in the health system;
  • Investigate, analyse, and review complex and sensitive information to make appropriate determinations, ensuring compliance with policy and guidelines; and
  • Collaborate and liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to gather information and assist with resolving customer challenges .
  
It is envisaged that you will have significant experience within policy roles, with a particular focus on Aged Care, NDIS or consumer advocacy. You will have strong networks within the government framework, outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to oscillate between various focus groups and government processes.  Formal qualifications within Health Policy, Public Health, or Exercise Physiology will be a requirement.
  
Success in this role will require you to have a collaborative style, professional presenting skills, excellent attention to detail and  a real passion for the supporting initiatives that assist with health and wellbeing.
