i4 Connect Pty Ltd (i4) is the Accelerating Commercialisation (see Accelerating Commercialisation | business.gov.au) Delivery Partner for the Australian Government Entrepreneurs’ Programme. Accelerating Commercialisation (AC) provides matched funding of up to $1M for projects undertaken by Australian businesses to bring novel products, processes or services to market. 

We are looking for highly motivated and experienced individuals (see AusIndustry Entrepreneurs' Programme - Accelerating Commercialisation — i4 Connect to facilitate Commercialisation projects and for those that satisfy the merit criteria, to work with these businesses to apply for grants of up to $1 million of matched funding. 
 
Reporting to the State Lead, you will design and deliver smart business outcomes in a variety of ways and across a number of industries to improve the growth, innovation and Commercialisation capabilities of Australian startups, entrepreneurs and innovators as well as mentor associate members of the delivery team nationally. 
 
At the heart of the role, lies your advanced interpersonal, representation, influencing and negotiation skills. Working with the broader team of Commercialisation Facilitators, you will both mentor more junior members by leveraging your experience in executive or leadership roles which have given you a solid understanding of governance, financial reports, legal documents & structures, and managing projects to enhance the skills, know-how of the team and in turn, the outcomes of the many businesses we provide Commercialisation Facilitation services to. 
 
You present with appropriate formal qualifications and experience in industry and research, engineering, science and national and international business experience, in areas such as raising capital, sales and marketing, distribution channels, establishing joint ventures, or multinational operations. 
 
Requirements

  • You know how to build, maintain and manage a growing pipeline of clients seeking to commercialise their innovation. 
  • You are committed to keep up-to-date with important trends and innovations and to share them with clients, peers and stakeholders. 
Job Specific Capabilities 
  • Experience as a founder and/or CEO of a start-up business focused on commercialising new technology and/or novel intellectual property. 
  • Direct experience with successfully commercialising new intellectual property including seed capital raising. 
  • Access to extensive domestic and international networks within the innovation ecosystem, that includes service providers, industries and firms that can support early-stage innovators. 
  • Demonstrable current connection to the Australian start-up and early-stage enterprise community in your State or Territory. 
  • Strong skills in guiding entrepreneurs and inventors around Commercialisation essentials, such as establishing and developing a business, creating a clear value proposition, raising capital, creating resources and operating a profitable, growth-focused business.
