The Disability Sector is looking for candidates who truly want to make a difference in someone’s life whilst commencing or further developing their own career.

What a Disability Support Worker does
  • Assist to develop the life skills of the people you support such as, meal preparation, cleaning, personal care, other domestic duties within the home
  • Personal care, toileting, showering, daily grooming tasks
  • Assist in the administration of medication
  • Transportation to appointments, outings and community participation

Essential Skills
  • Qualification – Possess or are currently working towards a certificate III in Disability, Aged Care or Individual Support
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Computer Literacy – Ability to use Client Management Systems
  • WWCC Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check
  • Applicable State checks to work with vulnerable people if required
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written communications literacy
    Drivers Licence
    Comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicle (community participation roles)
Understanding of the following:
  • Knowledge of the 6 National Disability Standards
  • Knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safety Framework
  • Knowledge of the NDIS Code of Conduct

About Sector

Disability Support roles are often initially on a casual basis and progress to part or full time as you continue with the organisation. Hours usually are determined on the client base and if you are adapting easily to the working environment and tasks required. Organisation will support through training and mentoring opportunities to develop your skills further.
