MMA Offshore is seeking expressions of interest from Masters, Chief Officers and 2nd Mates with offshore experience to work on our vessels operating across Australia. 

Duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Place importance on health, safety, security and the environment above all other requirements
  • Comply with all HSEQ policies and procedures as well as ensuring all tasks are undertaken in a safe and competent manner
  • Ensure the vessel is navigated, operated and maintained in accordance with Flag, Statutory Rules and Regulations, and Company Instructions
  • Plan and ensure the safe loading, stowage, securing and unloading of cargo at sea and in port
  • Maintain the vessel's safety equipment under the direction of the Master and in accordance with Flag, Statutory and Company Conventions, Rules and Regulations (e.g. SOLAS, Marine Orders, etc)
  • Record and report any defect associated with critical equipment to vessel management, regulatory authorities and class as required
  • Interface with the Client on vessel day to day operational matters
  • Address and resolve all matters affecting the safety of the crew, vessel, cargo and the protection of the environment
Minimum qualifications and competencies for all positions: 
  • Hold a STCW VI/6 Security Awareness Endorsement
  • STCW IV/2 GMDSS
  • ECDIS certificate
  • Hold a valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or able to meet requirements
  • Hold a valid AMSA Medical Certificate or equivalent
  • Hold a valid Passport with a minimum of 6 months’ currency
  • Be able to apply for and meet National Police Certificate requirements
  • Full Australian Work Rights
Master’s required qualifications and competencies:
  • STCW II/2 Master Unlimited Certificate of Competency or equivalent AMSA Certificate of Recognition
  • Demonstrated experience as a Master offshore
  • STCW VI/5 SSO Endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with Client and meeting project requirements
  • DP Unlimited Certificate
  • TECDIS certificate (advantageous)
  • Azimuth and/or anchor handling experience (advantageous)
  Chief Officer’s required qualifications and competencies:
  • STCW II/2 Chief Mate Unlimited Certificate of Competency or equivalent AMSA Certificate of Recognition
  • DP Advanced Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chief Mate offshore
  • Azimuth and anchor handling experience (advantageous)
  • TECDIS Certificate (advantageous)
Second Officer’s required qualifications and competencies:
  • STCW II/1 Deck Watchkeeper Unlimited Certificate of Competency or equivalent AMSA Certificate of Recognition
  • DP Advanced Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience as a Deck Watchkeeper offshore
  • TECDIS Certificate (advantageous)
