We have an opportunity for an experienced Mine Planning Engineer to play an integral role in an exciting greenfield opportunity for a first Coal mine in the Galilee Basin. Being part of a small, well known company, you will get exposure all aspects of the operation. FIFO out of Rockhampton or Townsville.
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide Operational Mine Plans
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and rolling quarterly schedules, plans and supporting data in software SPRY / 3D-dig for all activities, which are to be submitted to the Client
  • Undertake short and medium term mine planning activities including mine designs and schedules to meet contract requirements.
  • Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance
  • Prepare drilling and blasting plans as necessary
  • Build positive working relationships, coordinating with operations teams to develop plans, schedules and designs
  • Provide and deliver plans to operational personnel and monitoring progress against plan
  • Track operation KPIs and commercial progress
  • Prepare monthly progress claims and assist in the formulation of the budgets and forecasts
  • Generate both internal and client reports
  • Communicate effectively with the client regarding operational and technical matters 
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining or Civil)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Coal Mining in a Mine planning role
  • Experience with SPRY software is a must
  • Current Queensland Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
  • A current Queensland driver licence
Desirable skills include:
  • Working knowledge relevant software packages, including 3D-Dig, or Spry 
  • RIIVEH201D - Operate light vehicle 
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate
